    It is our honour to invite and welcome you to International Conference on Lifelong Learning and Education for Sustainability (ICLLES) 2019, Department of Non-formal Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang which will be held on August, 8th-9th 2019, at Main Hall of Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang, Prof. Dr. Hamka Street, Air Tawar, Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia (25171). The conference is organized by The Department of Non Formal Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang.


    Background

    The development of innovative digital devices today should facilitate our lives, especially in the process of educating and caring for children. A variety of digital devices really attract children's attention and become a fun learning medium. Our children are easy to access important information and have broader learning opportunities. But behind its sophistication, digital technology also has a worrying influence on the future of children. Some features offered without assistance can interfere with children's physical and mental growth.

    This phenomenon is a challenge for us, especially for parents in caring for and educating children. Parents must be prepared together with formal and non-formal educational institutions to develop children in the face of the era of technology and information on all fronts of life. Proper handling will have a beneficial effect and reduce its bad influence.


    Objectives

    The objectives of the conference are to share and discuss new ideas, experiences, and new policies that are useful in achieving family educational goals in digital era. The discussion material consists of explanatory and praxis aspects. First, the explanatory aspect that comes from the study of researchers. Second, the praxis aspect that comes from the professional experience of practitioners. The discussion material comes from various background studies such as administration, policy, economics, development, anthropology, sociology, vocational education, non formal education, and basic education or another studies relevant to the discussion of family education. The scope of this conference  is to discuss the following six sub themes.

    1. Non formal education for child protection and women empowerment.

    2. Using ICT in family education.

    3. Family as a key to eradicating poverty and hunger.

    4. Gender equality education in the family.

    5. Education policy in family mianstreaming.

    6. Family as the carrying capacity of education.


    The Expected Output of the Conference

    1. Participants understand about non formal education policy through using information technology in empowering women and families to eradicate poverty and unemployment.

    2. Participants understand about the government policies on education that supports the strengthening of family roles to realize a lifelong learning society.

    3. Participants understand about how to mainstreaming the family as an educational base in preventing the childhood deviation and misuse of information technology.

    4. Participants understand the role of family to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development in digital era.

    5. Participants understand about how to ensure an inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

    6. Participants understand about the role of family to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

    · Notification of abstract acceptance (July 28, 2019)

    · Full paper submission deadline (Augusty 2, 2019)

    Call for Papers

    Researchers, lecturers, NGO practitioners, and students are kindly invited to participate and contribute to help shape the conference. Quality innovative and original results of various types of research, empirical practices and constructive propositions are welcome.

    Authors are requested to submit abstract to the Organizing Committee by July 6, 2019 (deadline). The papers should be written in English and must be between (3000-4000 words).

    All submitted conference abstracts and papers will be blind-reviewed by competent reviewers. The abstract book, and certificate of presentation and participation will be handed at the conference desk.
